Day by Day Itinerary

ARRIVAL
Meeting the group at the Skopje Airport. Transfer to the hotel in Skopje. Check in. Leisure time. Full day or half day (depending on time of arrival) sightseeing of Skopje (Skopje Fortress – Kale, Stone Bridge, Feudal Tower, City Museum of Skopje – “Adam from Govrlevo” figure, Old Bazaar, Bezisten, Kapan An, Suli An, Cifte Amam, Kursumli An, Daut Pasha Amam, St. Spas – Church of the Holy Saviour, Holy Archangel Michael Church, Sv. Bogorodica, St. Pantelejmon Church, Isaac Bey Mosque, Jahja Pasha Mosque, Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Sultan Murat Mosque). We stop by for lunch in the bazaar. After the lunch we have time for some souvenir shopping in the Bazar. In the afternoon visit of the city center (the old Railway station – first railway station on the Balkans, and at that time was the most beautiful facility on the Balkan, The memorial house of Mother Teresa, The Stone Bridge – monumental building in the centre of the city built in the beginning of the VI century and the most striking monument on the entire Balkan). Transfer back to hotel. Dinner and overnight. (L/D)
CLIMBING IN MATKA CANYON
After breakfast departure to Matka Canyon, the starting point for top rope climbing. The vast Matka Canyon is a protected natural reserve and home to several medieval monasteries, amazing caves and a wide variety of plants and animals. Located just 15 km from Skopje, with its steep cliffs and limestone rocks, it is Macedonia’s most popular climbing area. The group will be offered  boat trip and visit of the Vrelo cave. We will have lunch at the restaurant by the Matka Lake. We return to Skopje in the early evening hours. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
CYCLING TO LESHNICA
Breakfast and check out from the hotel. Transfer to Popova Shapka. Arrival and check in at hotel. Half day XC cycling tour to Leshnica. Lunch packet on site. Transfer back to hotel. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
HIKING ON TITOV
Breakfast. Full day hiking tour to Titov Vrv summit. As one of the highest peaks in the Shar Planina massif, with some very long and demanding routes, this peak offers hikers a real challenge. The reward is enjoying the beautiful views over the entire Shar Planina massif along the whole route and the excellent feeling of conquering the peak. Lunch on site. Transfer back to hotel. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
OHRID
Breakfast. Check out from hotel and departure to Ohrid (Macedonia’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site). We stop by at the Monastery of St.John the Baptist (unique centuries old wooden iconostasis, it’s a must see). Check in at the hotel in Ohrid. Afternoon tour of the most famous Ohrid amenities: the Church of St. Sofia, the Plaoshnik archaeological site, Tzar Samuel’s fortress, the Ancient Theater, church of St. Jovan Kaneo. We stop by for an optional lunch in a restaurant in the old part of Ohrid. After the lunch we explore the old Ohrid bazaar Visit of a traditional handmade paper workshop. If there is time left, we will also visit the house of Robevci which is at the same time a museum of Ohrid. Free time. (B/L/D)
TANDEM PARAGLIDING OR CAVING
Breakfast. Check out from hotel and departure to Ohrid. Check in at the hotel and departure to the starting point for tandem paragliding on a mountain near Lake Ohrid-National Park Galicica. You cannot explain the feeling when flying above the take off place and enjoying the view – Lake Ohrid on one side of the mountain and Lake Prespa on the other. If the weather conditions are not favorable, we can offer as an alternative caving tour (easy or extreme) near city of Ohrid. Lunch on site. Transfer back to hotel. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
BITOLA
Breakfast and check out from the hotel. Departure to Bitola. City tour of Bitola, including the ancient city of Heraclea Lyncestis (founded by Philip 2 of Macedonia, Alexander’s father), the museum of Pelagonia, the old part of Bitola (Shirok Sokak street). Lunch and free time. Check in at hotel. Afternoon transfer to Kopanki.  Dinner. (B/L/D)
PELISTER NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast. Walking tour to the Jorgov Kamen and Crveni Steni (4 hours in both directions). Lunch with traditional dishes from the region. Walking back to the hotel. Leisure time. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
TREKKING ON MT PELISTER
Breakfast. Trekking tour to the summit through the stone ridge (harder version) or through the Molika Forest (easier version). After 6 hours of trekking arrival at the summit. One hour break for lunch. On the way to Nizepole we will visit the glacial lakes “Pelisterski oci”. Arrival at Nize pole and transfer back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
BOAT TRIP TO GOLEM GRAD
Breakfast and check out from the hotel. Transfer to the village of Stenje. Check in at hotel.  Boat ride to the island of “Golem Grad”. We have 2 hours for sightseeing of the ancient ruins and lunch on site. After boat trip transfer back to hotel. Leisure time. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
TREKKING ON MT. MAGARO
Breakfast. Departure to Galicica mountain. Trekking tour to the Magaro summit with a snack along the way (6 hours). Return to Stenje. Lunch and leisure time. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
